The Guardians of the Galaxy

Even the 31st Century needs heroes, and the call has been answered by the Guardians of the Galaxy, a team of superhuman and extraterrestrial adventurers dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy from any force that threatens the security or liberty of its various people.

In the aftermath of the Phalanx invasion of the Kree, Star-Lord decided to form a team of interstellar heroes that will be proactive in protecting the galaxy, rather than reacting to crises as they happen. On the recommendation of their ally, Nova, the group established a base of operations on the space station Knowhere, which possesses a teleportation system with near-universal range. Since then, the Guardians dedicated themselves as a group of space explorers.
